For years, I've been capturing my feelings on paper, though not in the form of a diary: I don't write every day, just every now and then. Yet it's not just for my ears and eyes alone - I constantly have a sense of writing and revising for an audience.
My project of creating a memoir has gone through numerous iterations. What used to be projected as a published book is now heading towards a solo performance of about an hour's length, including lots of piano music.
The line I've defined here between essays and fiction is rather arbitrary - an essay can, for instance, be my first step towards a fictional treatment. I'm currently trying out both first person and third person as the most valid ways to tell the stories I want to pursue.
